Embarkation Ladder

An embarkation ladder is designed to provide safe and efficient access between a vessel and a boat or dock during boarding and disembarkation. Built with strong rope and durable steps, it ensures stability and reliability in marine and offshore environments. The ladder complies with maritime safety requirements and is suitable for both routine operations and emergency use.

Specifications

Marine embarkation ladders are specialized rope ladders required by SOLAS regulations for safe access to survival craft during emergencies. They are designed to extend from the deck to the waterline and remain functional even when the ship is listing up to 20° or trimming up to 10°.

 Key Specifications

  • Step Material: Primary steps are made of unpainted, unvarnished hardwood(beech, oak, or ash) with a non-skid surface. The lowest four steps are typically made of rubber with steel lining to resist impact.
  • Rope Construction: Utilizing continuous  Manila rope(typically 18mm–22mm diameter) that must not be painted, coated, or covered.
  • Fittings: Steps are secured with seawater-resistant aluminium rope clamps.
  • Length Options: Standard ladders range from 2m to 50m, custom-fabricated to the vessel’s specific deck-to-waterline height.
  • When purchasing, prioritize units that are MED/SOLAS approved and include digital or physical certification stamps for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintenance: Designed with a special shape that allows damaged steps to be replaced without removing the aluminum clamps.
